The Lola EX 257 has been specifically designed to compete in the
toughest endurance race of all, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is the
most technically advanced sports car that Lola has ever designed and
built. It will reach a top speed of 210 mph.
Its lineage includes the successful SR1 and SR2 chassis and is a one
piece carbon fiber composite monoque with fabricated steel double
wishbones front and rear. The front suspension pivots on flexures.
The AER - P07 is a 2.0 liter, four cylinder, in line turbocharged
engine. Designed from a clean sheet of paper, it makes in excess of
500 HP, and on a per cylinder basis, more than an F1 engine. It is all
aluminum construction and is mounted as a semi-stressed member of the
chassis with A-frames.
The engine is known for its compactness and there are no external belt
drives or ancillaries. The camshafts, water pump and oil pump are
driven by fully enclosed chains.
The engine has multiple throttles for optimum engine response with
Life Racing electronics for minimum lag engine control.
